506 – JURY DUTY

It is the position of the Company that employees should perform their civic duty when called for Jury duty. Jury duty is unpaid (unless otherwise dictated by state rules) although PTO hours may be used.

Associates, Security Officers & Janitors - The nature of the Associate’s and Security Officer’s duties makes it difficult to allow time off for jury duty. Employees who receive a summons for jury duty must immediately notify their Supervisor to determine if jury duty leave can be allowed at the scheduled time. Employees may be asked to request a postponement of jury duty to a more favorable time.

Staff - DPI Staff members do not accrue PTO time and therefore must utilize RTO (Responsible Time Off) to cover any absence due to jury duty. RTO will cover a maximum of two weeks of time off due to jury service.
